Subharti MBA or MBA + PGDM?
It is the same university MBA either way. The extra ₹12,000 buys a second, separate award, so the real question is whether you have a use for it.

What the PGDM actually is
The PGDM is the facilitating institute's own Post Graduate Diploma in Management, awarded alongside the university's degree. It is not a UGC degree and does not claim to be — the recognition in this pair sits with the MBA.
Diplomas of this kind have a well-known precedent: until the IIM Act took effect in 2018, the IIMs were registered societies awarding a PGDM, and nobody treated that as second-rate. Judge the diploma on the institute and its subject.
The institute lists PGDM areas that include healthcare, hospital and pharmaceutical management, retail, insurance and foreign trade, alongside the general management functions. Confirm which are open for your session.
Who needs only the MBA
- You need the degree for a notification, a promotion rule or PhD admission
- Your two MBA specialisations already point where you want to go
- Keeping the total down matters more to you than a second certificate — the MBA alone is ₹12,000 less paid at once
Who might value both
- You want a sector-focused diploma — healthcare or pharma management, for example — beside a general MBA
- You work in the private sector, where an institute diploma in your field reads as directly relevant
- You would rather pay in instalments: the pair's plans all total ₹77,000, while the standalone MBA adds ₹2,000 when spread
The money, plan by plan
| Plan | MBA | MBA + PGDM | Difference |
|---|---|---|---|
| Paid in full at the start | ₹65,000 | ₹77,000 | ₹12,000 |
| Paid in two yearly parts | ₹67,000 | ₹77,000 | ₹10,000 |
| Paid at admission, then per semester | ₹67,000 | ₹77,000 | ₹10,000 |
Paid at once, the gap is ₹12,000. By instalments it narrows to ₹10,000, because the combination carries no instalment premium.
